Le Vignoble, which means ‘the vineyard’ in French, is a hybrid wine business offering elements of lounge, retail and education. The owner contacted Tandem Studio to re design the lounge area including bespoke seating and tables. The contemporary plywood bar furniture was designed to be elegant and very robust to with stand heavy daily use.

A bench seat was designed for the window alcove with a COR-TEN weathered steel base to match the external steel around the shop front . The use of steel supporting the seat also meant that it remained visually light in front of the window.

The lounge chair and bar stool needed to be elegant, comfortable and robust. In addition to this the lounge chairs in particular needed to be visually light to maintain an open feel to the space and light weight to allow the space to be easily reconfigured for the various educational events that are held there.

Both are made from walunt faced birch plywood with a durable hardwax oil finish and washable seat cushion cover.

The bar stools have an inlaid black lino seat surface and a stainless steel footrest for durability.
